Coursework Report 100% 4000 words

This work accounts for 100% of your final module mark. You can write up to 4000 words.

You are a consultant who works with individuals, households, business, organisations and local authorities to develop strategies for sustainable energy transitions within the context of the client’s brief.

You have been commissioned to report on a full prioritised strategy for energy transition, along the lines of the 6 Transformations for Sustainable Development introduced in this module’s lectures. To do this, you need to complete the following steps:

  • Choose the context of your report. You may report on any of the scales mentioned above, from household to local authority scale. You should describe the context of the work, considering the scale of the project, its location, and its present energy use. Position your work in relation to present energy practice and its impact on the various UN SDGs.
  • Undertake a Force Field Analysis (FFA) of internal and external drivers and barriers that promote or hold back these Transformations. Use the supplementary document (Undertaking a Force Field Analysis.doc) to support this analysis and develop a visual representation of your thinking. Consider drivers and barriers across all six Transformations, if appropriate.
  • Use this analysis to argue for a prioritised strategy for change, reflecting upon the potential for a successful sustainable transformation, and addressing how you might wish to improve your final FFA scores against some of the most difficult barriers. Make sure that you use examples from case studies and ideas derived from the peer-reviewed literature to strengthen your arguments.

Present your analysis, evaluation, and strategy in a final report. A suggested structure for this might be (see table below):

The following components are not included in your word count:

  • coursework cover sheet
  • list of contents or index
  • lists of abbreviations or acronyms
