This MBA assignment combines a full new-venture business plan with a short reflective essay. The plan is marked on how critically it applies entrepreneurship theory to a real opportunity, from idea generation and market research through to the business model, finances and exit route; the essay tests how well you can explain techniques that build an entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial mindset.
Part A – The Business Plan (2,500–3,000 words, 75 marks)
The Business Plan should display a critical, analytical and evaluative understanding of the following:
- Entrepreneurial Thinking
- Innovation Management
- Opportunity Spotting
- Opportunity Evaluation
- Industry and Market Research
- Strategy and Business Models
- Financial Awareness
- Exit Strategy
The plan should follow a business plan format (see the course presentation) and include, where required, the necessary referencing and accreditation of sources. References are not included in the word count.
Part B – Reflective Essay (1,000 words, 15 marks)
This element examines your ability to succinctly summarise and explain the critical importance of entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial skills to the contemporary practice of management.
- Give a brief exposition of one or two techniques that can be used to develop and enhance the individual creativity and awareness important to the entrepreneurial/intrapreneurial mindset.
- Word count: 1,000 words with an allowance of +/- 10%.
- Write in either first or third person, including practical evidence that illustrates how and why the techniques you recommend are effective; you may draw on personal experience or secondary evidence.
- Follow academic guidelines, with in-text citations and a reference list (not counted in the word limit).
Submission Notes
- The Business Plan and the Reflective Essay are submitted as a single Word document, with the Reflective Essay appended to the Business Plan.
- Late submission within one week of the deadline carries a 20% penalty; similarity between students’ work is graded zero.
Need help with your Entrepreneurship and Innovation business plan?
A strong Entrepreneurship and Innovation plan does more than list the eight headings. Markers look for a venture idea traced from opportunity spotting to evaluation (for example with a feasibility screen or Lean Canvas), market sizing backed by real UAE or GCC industry data, a business model that explains how value is captured, three-year projections with break-even, and a realistic exit route. The reflective essay then needs one or two named creativity techniques, such as design thinking or effectuation, with evidence of why they work. Our business plan assignment help and entrepreneurship assignment support can guide your structure and APA 7th referencing.
