Assignment Task

Part 1: Integrated Research Proposal and Ethical Review (~1,500 words)

  • Clearly define the research aims, rationale and evidence-based justification.
  • Present a well-structured research question and, where appropriate, hypotheses.
  • Discuss the research design: type of study (e.g. experimental, survey, interview-based, mixed methods); recruitment plan, sample characteristics and inclusion/exclusion criteria; methods (data collection tools, protocols and procedures); and planned quantitative and/or qualitative analysis.
  • Demonstrate alignment with Coventry University’s ethics application format.
  • Identify and address ethical issues and potential risks.
  • Attach all ethics documents in the appendices (e.g. consent forms, participant information sheets, debrief).

Part 2: Global and Social Impact Analysis (~500 words)

  • Reflect on how the research can contribute to positive change or social good.
  • Identify local, societal, national and global challenges related to the research.
  • Consider policy, societal or psychological implications, using relevant frameworks (e.g. public health strategies, social justice).
  • Analyse ethical implications in diverse contexts or across cultures.

Part 3: Reflective Essay on Personal and Professional Development (~1,000 words)

  • Reflect on learning from the ethics process and applying BPS principles.
  • Evaluate challenges faced during project development (e.g. methodological revisions, ethical risk).
  • Consider how your identity and values as a researcher have evolved (Capabilities Framework).
  • Discuss skill development (e.g. ethical reasoning, resilience, adaptability) and link to future professional or academic goals.
  • Use a structured reflective framework (e.g. Gibbs, Kolb).

Need help with your 7132PY ethics proposal?

The three parts must tell one consistent story: the design, sample and analysis in Part 1 should match your ethics documents in the appendices, Part 2 should show real-world impact beyond the study, and Part 3 should reflect honestly on decisions you changed during ethics review. Students often under-develop risk mitigation (anonymity, data storage, distress protocols) and forget to justify why a quantitative, qualitative or mixed design fits the question. Our dissertation and research proposal help can review your proposal and ethics forms, and our essay writing services can guide the Gibbs or Kolb reflection.
