A novel pathogen named Bacterium X was isolated in the UK from a person who arrived via international travel. The pathogen was isolated from a patient who had skin abscesses, blood in their urine, nausea, diarrhea, and intestinal cramps. The patient suspects that they caught the disease from their study of primates as several of these apes studied had obvious skin diseases.
