Scenario

This is based on your work experience placement, so it is set in the context of a real health, social care, or childcare setting.

The tasks:

Task 1: While on work experience, carry out a specific, observed one-to-one interaction and a specific, observed group interaction, where you demonstrate effective communication skills.

Task 2: Complete a questionnaire to review your communication skills and how effective they were in these specific interactions.

On your work experience placement, carry out an observed one-to-one interaction and an observed group interaction where the observer completes a witness statement commenting on your communication skills. Ensure the observer completes and signs a witness statement for each interaction which documents the communication skills you used.

When you return to college, you will need to fill in a questionnaire about your communication skills, in which you review how effective they were in the one to one and group interaction.
