Introduction

This unit is designed to introduce the learner to reflective practice in all its forms. Reflections on practice and in practice are important concepts in health and social care and feed into the idea of self -development linking theory to practice.

Scenario

Learners may use their own employment context to write an assignment based on assessment tasks. Assessment tasks are learning outcomes of the unit associated with Assessment Criteria. Assessment criteria are descriptions of requirements a learner is expected to meet to demonstrate that a learning outcome has been achieved. Therefore, you are required to generate sufficient evidence on assessment criteria to meet learning outcomes of the unit within the rules, regulations and standards to achieve credits of the unit. If you are not in employment, please use the following scenario.

Consider you are working a Health and Social Care officer for an organisation in the health or social care sector. Your job roles and responsibilities include to explore quality and healthcare issues. As a part of your personal and professional development, you are asked to write your reflection based on your work against the following Tasks. You can write your ideas, experience, or reflection, research online to find the relevant literature and then demonstrate your understanding against assessment criteria (AC).

Task 1
