Tameside Theme Park (TTP) is a theme park opening in Ashton that has been successful since it opened. You have been approached to design and develop the hotel booking system. You must design a sound database system using MySQL with a suitable interface that contains no errors using relevant tools and techniques.
Task 1:
- Compare and contrast the different types of database models such as ER, relational, hierarchical, network, OO, and object-relational. Critically evaluate different DBMS available in relation to open source and vendor-specific platforms, justifying the criteria used in the evaluation.
- Assess how relational database models and the process of normalization can provide reliable and efficient data structures.
Task 2:
- Produce a requirements specification for the theme park booking system. Based on the specification, create design documentation for the DBMS and the user interface. How will the design optimize system performance?
