Write a critical explanation of how your view of language and understanding of pedagogic approaches will shape your decisions as a language teacher, as applied to a specific context.
The purpose of the assignment is to demonstrate your awareness of how language develops, and how theory informs teaching, synthesizing your critical reflections on views of language, SLA learning theories, and pedagogic approaches including TBLT. Your essay should be related to teaching in a specific class context you are likely to teach in the future, e.g. adults or children, and for a specific language, e.g. L2 English, L2 Chinese, L2 Arabic. For those with no classroom experience or immediate plans for teaching, by request, you may alternatively relate this to the choices you made when designing and implementing your lesson plan.
