Section 1 – The Covid Paradox
As of July 2020, we find that all the current indicators and future predictions for the economy are down but at the same time, financial markets are up – critically analyze this seemingly paradoxical scenario. Your analysis should include a critical evaluation of the US and UK economies plus the bond and equity markets in the two countries.
Section 2 – Government and Central Bank Actions in the UK and the US
Include a discussion and critical evaluation of the actions taken by the governments and the central banks in the two countries in response to the Covid-19 crisis. Your discussion of the central banks’ actions should include amongst other things a critical evaluation of their actions taken with respect to the interest rate and quantitative easing.
