In this unit, learners will explore what it’s like to work in Health and Social Care, focusing on responsibilities related to maintaining health, safety, and safeguarding the rights of individuals. Emphasis will be placed on:

• Discriminatory practices

Students will understand the role of regulatory bodies, monitoring processes, and the quality of care delivered. The roles of various professionals involved in care delivery, the potential barriers to inter-professional working, and the sharing of information will also be covered. Case studies will be used for assessment.

Scenario: If you’re not currently employed in Health and Social Care, you will use a hypothetical scenario where you work as a Health and Social Care Assistant reporting to a Senior Manager. Your task is to explore key concepts such as roles, responsibilities, legislative requirements, and the role of teams in this field.
